- Avoid using an outdated version of iOS.
- Turn off apps that use location services to avoid criminals locating your presence or sharing your information with any third party.

apps. Here are tips for recognizing a fake app before
downloading.
- The developer or author of the
application is not Emirates NBD
- The app is available on a third-party site, other than the Apple store for your mobile device.
- Phishing via SMS text message. A criminal sends you a text message that tries to trick you into replying with financial or personal information or clicking on links that will sneak virus infected mobile applications to your Mobile device. Don't respond to a text message that requests personal or financial information. Emirates NBD will never ask you to provide your information in this way or never ask for downloading and installing mobile applications apart from Apple store.
- Avoid storing your banking password or other
sensitive information on your smartphone where it could be
discovered if your phone is stolen.
- For your security, logout when you finish using
the app rather than just closing it.
- Lock screen protection should be enabled on your phone. Virtually all Apple iOS/iPhone come with optional security measures pre-installed, accessed in the security submenu of settings.
- You should download updates from Apple store if available for the app.
- Safeguard your phone and do not use unauthorized software e.g. jailbreak on your smartphones as this can leave it open to infection from a virus or Trojan, hacked software from other smart phone devices. The bank will not be liable for any losses resulting from using such programs. We recommend you also install security software, personal firewalls including an anti-virus app if available for your device.
- Delete text messages from your bank once you've read them.
- Be wary of opening email messages from untrustworthy sources, especially if they contain attachments.
- Clear out /delete all information on your phone before discarding it.
- Avoid sending your personal information or online banking credentials via e-mail or text, as both are easy to intercept.
